Hand and Foot is a beloved rummy-style card game in the Canasta family, usually played with 2–8 players. Each player gets two piles of cards: a hand you play first, and a foot you pick up once your hand is empty.
On each turn you draw, meld sets of matching cards (and straights, if your table allows them), and discard. Seven cards in one meld make a book — clean books with no wild cards score 500, dirty books score 300, and rare books of twos or seven-card straights score even more. The round ends when someone empties their hand and foot and goes out; the series runs to 10,000 points.
It's easy to learn, hard to put down, and famously the game that keeps families around the table for "just one more round." New to the game or need a refresher?
